Barry Nuss, Fire Marshal |
Effective May 18, 2010 a permit is no longer required for residential single-family dwellings. This includes new construction, additions, remodels and basement finishes.

We are able to provide and install smoke alarms for district residents who need them, at no cost. The smoke alarms are operated by a battery with an advertised 10 year service life, which cannot be removed or replaced. Near the end of the battery life, the smoke alarm will chirp every 45 seconds to indicate a low battery. At this point, or at 10 years (whichever comes first) the smoke alarm needs to be immediately replaced.
Up to three smoke alarms will be provided per household, with the priority being bedrooms.
Please fill out the Smoke Alarm Request form and e-mail it here or drop it by our Station 1.
This service is a joint effort of the Lincoln County Fire Districts and the Lincoln County Community Safety Task Force. This project funded in part by the Department of Health and Senior Services Maternal and Child Health Services Contract. |

| We investigate the origin and cause of all structural fires occurring within District boundaries. Certified Fire Investigators are on staff and are called in to determine whether the fire was accidental or intentionally set. The District also has access to fire investigators from the Missouri State Fire Marshal's Office who are contacted and respond to almost every significant fire in Lincoln County. The District is also a member of the Lincoln County Arson Task Force which is comprised of several fire districts and law enforcement agencies. |

Other jurisdictions, such as the City of Troy, City of Moscow Mills and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources also regulate burning and some may be more restrictive than Fire District regulations. Please contact each applicable jurisdiction for burning regulations. Please see our Burning FAQ for questions related to burning in the Fire District.
