Remember that time the firefighters came to your school to visit and teach, or the trip to the fire station.  Can you help us educate our children?  Lincoln County Fire Protection District #1 has been deeply committed to a fire safety program called “FIREPUP” which specifically targets children.  In cooperation with our District, you will be providing fire safety education materials for children, distributed in our schools, safety fairs, public safety presentations and in the fire stations.

The materials have been designed exclusively by the National Fire Safety Council, Inc., a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, and non-profit organization.  The only way we can pay for these materials (under the charter of this organization) is through charitable contributions.  They offer age-specific 24 page activity manuals for ages preschool thru sixth grades, pamphlets on smoke alarms, fire escapes, meeting places, baby sitting, badges, fire hats, and many other items used to teach fundamentals of fire safety and burn prevention. Our District will coordinate and distribute effective fire safety materials to elementary age children, as well as preschoolers, home schoolers, senior citizens and the public at large, essentially anyone who requests information.  We strongly believe by making children aware, we can prevent tragic fire loss and death.

In order to help cover the costs of these materials, Lincoln County Fire Protection District #1 and the National Fire Safety Council, Inc. are turning to you, the community.  We ask that you consider sponsoring materials for the students in our community, at the cost of $3.25 per child for the year.

20 children @ $65                30 children @ $98                40 children @ $130

50 children @ $163              60 children @ $195              75 children @ $244

100 children @ $325            150 children @ $488            200 children @ $650

Supporters of this program will have their contributions acknowledged and specifically named on the prestige page of all fire safety activity manuals under the heading, “Provided as a Public Service by People Who Care.”

All tax-deductible checks should be make payable to National Fire Safety Council, Inc. Federal Tax ID #38-2292422 and mailed to: Firepup Program c/o Lincoln County Fire Protection District #1 – 700 E. Cherry St. Troy, MO 63379.

We would like to thank you in advance for your generous support of this program.  Through our partnership in providing these materials to our school children we will be able to continue to work on our goal of providing a safer community for all our citizens.

In order to ensure these fire safety materials arrive in time for the new school year, we ask that any donations be delivered by Monday, July 5, 2010.
